About the role
We’re working with hospitals and health services across Australia seeking experienced Rural Generalists and GP VMOs for short and long-term locum coverage.
Roles range from small community hospitals through to larger regional centres, often blending Emergency, Inpatient, and GP Clinic work. You’ll be supported by strong local nursing and allied health teams, with the flexibility to choose when and where you work.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive GP and Emergency coverage within rural and regional facilities
- Manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions across ED, inpatient, and primary care settings
- Participate in on-call rosters and after-hours coverage as required
- Liaise with retrieval and tertiary services for patient transfers and escalation of care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with AHPRA and hospital policies
Skills & experience
- General or Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- Experience as a Rural Generalist or GP VMO (Emergency Medicine experience highly regarded)
- ALS2 (mandatory), REST or ACRRM Emergency courses desirable
- Proven ability to work independently in rural or remote settings
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
